Sylvia Marisa Mauren

Sylvia Marisa Mauren is the founding partner specializing in banking and finance, investments, mergers and acquisitions and insurances. She started her career at one of Indonesia’s prominent law firm where she assisted various banking and finance, investments, mergers and acquisition, and general corporate matters.

In 2008, she joined Indonesia’s leading law firm, Hadiputranto Hadinoto & Partners. In 2010, she joined Budidjaja & Associates. During her time in Budidjaja & Associates, not only she continued to work in investments, corporate, and banking and finance matters, she also assisted several arbitration proceedings in Indonesia and outside Indonesia.

In 2013 she was invited to speak in the International Boundary Disputes & Unitisation in E&P, held in Bangkok. In the previous year, she also received a full scholarship from International Development Law Organization (IDLO) to attend the Advanced Course on Procurement in Rome, Italy.

Sylvia is qualified and licensed to act as legal counsel before the Indonesian courts.

• Representing a financial institution pension fund of a multinational insurance company in a portfolio transfer from a financial institution pension fund owned by one of the largest State-Owned Enterprise Banks in Indonesia, with a portfolio worth of trillions of rupiah
• Assisting a multinational insurance company in performing legal due diligence of thousands of its agreements with third party and providing advice in relation to its merger with another multinational insurance company in Indonesia
• Assisting a leading hydro power plant company in Indonesia in shares acquisition of various other power plant companies for various hydro power plant sites in Indonesia as part of its expansion plan
• Representing a leading multinational bank as the lender in a loan transaction to a Singaporean entity and advising it with respect to the Indonesian security documents
• Acting as local counsel to a leading multinational trading company based in Japan in taking over a global food producer in a deal worth USD1,700,000,000 (one billion seven hundred million United States Dollars)
• Acting as local counsel to a multinational chemical company based in the United States of America in its global restructuring, including taking over and mergers of its two Indonesian entities
• Advising a leading Japanese Bank in Jakarta in various legal matters, including assets purchase, execution of collaterals and claims of a deceased customer
• Assisting one of leading multinational insurance company against a Singaporean based mining company in a US$52,430,397 claim in an arbitration under Singapore International Arbitration Centre Rules
• Representing Indonesia’s leading multinational insurance company against its co-insurance company in a contractual dispute before the Badan Arbitrase Nasional Indonesia (BANI) with a claim of IDR 29,000,000,000
• Representing a leading reinsurance company against an Indonesian insurance company regarding a disputed insurance claim under an ad hoc arbitration in Jakarta
